Volkswagen, a 2010 record for the VAG Group

The leadership of the Volkswagen Group has reported financial results for 2010 confirm the excellent performance that was expected. Revenues increased by 20.6% to 126.9 billion euro (previous year were 105.2 billion euro). Of the 21.7 billion in its most well-19.8 are from the automotive division. If the consolidated operating income reached a record $ 7.1 billion that is 5.3 more than in 2009, down production costs with savings of 1.6 billion (even over the initial estimates of 1 billion).

In other words in Wolfsburg have numbers on their side and to "take a further step forward in the implementation of Strategy 2018. "This is a substantial proof of the vigor and competitiveness of the Group. We have significantly increased profitability, which shows that the decision to pursue our policy of containment of costs and investments was the right one," said Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of the Volkswagen group.

"Our new models - continues - green technology and strategy of modular platforms are laying the best foundation for profitable growth. We have the know-how, the necessary financial strength and the right team. This, in 2010, has allowed to travel in the fast lane, where, however, intend to remain in 2011.

" As for markets in the region where growth was most evident is the Asia-Pacific region, with China in the front row (+ 37.4% with nearly 2 million vehicles sold). South America also did well with a +9.9% (908mila), and the United States (+20.9% 360mila). Instead the more moderate performance in the Old Continent (+3.1% with 3.6 million vehicles) but here again the larger volumes.

As many know the group includes different brands within it. Almost all of the brands in question have seen an increase in unit sales, revenues and profits in 2010. Volkswagen with its excellent performance in Russia, China and the U.S. (4.5 million vehicles) to Audi scored the biggest gains in its history, up to Škoda.

Home czech grew up in China, Russia and India (763mila units). Bentley also finally made his share (+11% with 5,117 units sold). And 2011? The global delivery in the first two months increased by 17.5%, reaching a height of about 1.2 million vehicles. The road then seems to be already sealed.

The objective is to increase the number of sales to more than 10 million vehicles by 2018. An ambitious target that will see new investment and creating 50 thousand new jobs worldwide.
