2012 Porsche Cayenne: more grim for the V6 diesel

What's new spring home in Porsche, which debuted on the market in a renewed turbodiesel engine that will take place on the 2012 Cayenne carrying a slight increase in power and fuel consumption and emissions of all respect. The novelty is the introduction of new 3-liter V6 capable of delivering 245 hp, five more than the previous version and sufficient to ensure satisfactory performance even more: according to data reported by the Porsche Cayenne 3.0 turbodiesel offers acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.6 seconds while top speed reaches 220 km / h.

Better performance due course to the mentioned increase in power, but also some solutions that have allowed German engineers to reduce weight and improve the overall efficiency of the engine. The new variable geometry turbocharger goes hand in hand with a crankshaft redesigned and made lighter and a review of the injection system, which allows to reach a pressure of 2,000 bar that helps to pulverize better optimizing the performance of the diesel engine, as well adding several enhancements that have helped to reduce friction and to lower the weight of the V6 to 20 kg.

With these premises, consumption declared amounted to 7.2 liters per 100 km, while CO2 emissions drop to 189 g / km thereby reaching levels of interest in relation to the category of vehicle. Improvements announced for the Cayenne Hybrid, which receives the news from the debut with the introduction of Model Year 2012 of the German SUV.
