Aston Martin Vantage GT3 on the track in 2012

Aston Martin has released a rendering of the new Vantage GT3 racing car that will replace the "old" DBRS9. Based on the road version with V12 engine the car will debut in the season next year. The DBRS9 then finally comes out on stage after being launched in 2006 and produced 26 units in winning several competitions including the Australian GT at Mount Panorama in October last year.

The new GT3 Aston Martin Vantage will then add to the already comprehensive range of cars including the home Vantage GT2, GT4, One AMR DBR9 GT1 and LMP1. Constructed using lightweight materials like aluminum, the GT3 Vantage will be powered by a 6-liter V12 engine, with semi-automatic transmission Xtrac designed specifically for track use, a new traction control and ABS systems.

The objective is to contain the manufacturer's maximum weight within the threshold of 1,250 kg with a total capacity that should reach the 600 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Still under construction, the first prototype of the new Vantage GT3 will be ready in July, when they left the test track.

The final pieces of the new car Made in the UK - the price of which remains secret at the time - should therefore make his debut at the beginning of the 2012 season.
