BMW Z4 2011: new engine sDrive28i

New York Motor Show 2011 the BMW Z4 will have a new version with sDrive28i, equipped with a new engine. The engine is a 2.0-liter gasoline engine TwinPower Turbo with 240 horsepower, turbocharged fed by two exhaust ducts and Valvetronic variable valve timing. The BMW Z4 replaces the Z4 sFriev28i sDrive30i 15 horses that had more power but a lower maximum torque of 54 Nm, as the new engine has 352 Nm The automatic transmission is a first for the Z4 range, and sequential all'assiale transferred to eight-speed rear.

The new engine provides sDrive28i Z4 to reduce consumption by about 20%, but we are not yet aware of its benefits. We must also stress that this new engine for the BMW Z4 has been confirmed for the U.S. market only and do not yet know if it will be available in Europe.
