Earth Day: green cars at the service of our planet

Today April 22 is Earth Day, Earth Day, an event conceived and dedicated to the environment and safeguarding the planet. Throughout the world there will be themed events that will have the lowest common denominator of the right to protect the environment we live in view of sustainable development. The automobile industry, including following the provisions of the European Union and is moving increasingly towards alternative fuels for cars.

Zero emission electric cars, hybrid, plug-in, bifuel and care for the environment in general are already on the market and many other outlets are in the pipeline. Slowly it will turn the world fleet to supply clean and our cars will be almost completely green. The data show that in Italy late last year in the auto market were 6.42% of the ecological models, which means a 2% compared to 2008.

These numbers are encouraging, given that the most striking is the purchase of electric cars that, although for now are still limited in terms of autonomy, have already captured a market share. Excellent numbers of LPG and CNG-powered cars, which have made a great leap forward in accordance with government incentives.

The theme of the state incentives will be very important for the future as a decisive action by governments will upgrade the fleet more quickly for the benefit of all citizens and the environment.
