Eight Millionth BMW produced in Dingolfing

In Dingolfing today the eight millionth BMW has been produced. The 520d was delivered on site at the Piepenbrock Group of Companies, one of whose fleet had about 100 vehicles of the brand. Currently, the plant produces with such a high daily number of copies as never before. Of the more than 1,400 units produced daily in Dingolfing, about two-thirds for the new BMW 5 Series.

The model is closely linked with the history of the plant. Thus the first BMW model that 38 years ago was in Dingolfing from the tape, a red BMW 5 Series was the first generation. With 79 152 units sold, the BMW 5 Series in the first quarter of 2011, the world leader in the premium segment of the upper middle class and continued with 15 449 vehicles registered in Germany at the head of the segment.
