Envision Buick Concept - Shanghai Motor Show 2011

Buick launched today at the Shanghai Auto Show Concept Envision, crossover prototype that allegedly anticipates a future production model. Removing the imagination with the spectacular doors, solar panels on the roof and alloy wheels 22 ", there is very close to the final product, designed explicitly-Buick-states for the growing Chinese market.

Like the bodywork, the cabin is also granting the stylistic excesses of a typical prototype of a lounge. Among the leather seats and brushed aluminum accents and maple, there are ice blue interior lighting, the head-up display with 3D technology and infotainment system with Internet connectivity.

The car is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0 turbo with two small electric motors housed inside the new eight-speed automatic transmission. Among the various technological goodies are reported adaptive suspension and four wheel drive system that can continuously modulate the torque sent to each wheel.

No doubt the series will have no future in light frame, made an interesting mix of carbon, magnesium and aluminum. Envision Buick Concept - Shanghai Motor Show 2011
