Fiat: ex-Bertone, fails to accord with the unions

It ends with a "nothing done" today's meeting between unions at the Lingotto Confederates and Chief Executive Sergio Marchionne, to decide the future of the plant in Grugliasco. In a two-hour meeting, the Fiat had been in his position and a proposed production plan similar to those which were started plants at Mirafiori and Pomigliano d'Arco, with an investment of 550 million which should lead to the former Bertone to produce a-car brand Maserati.

The next step at this point, it will be decided by the Trade Unions Unitarian Grugliasco (majority Fiom), which are ready for a referendum among the thousands of employees. "Fiat", said the secretary of the Fiom, Maurizio Landini, emerging from the meeting, "he repeated the text that is delivered at the last meeting to replace the national contract with the Pomigliano: it is a very serious decision." The CGIL representative Susan Camusso said they felt "that a number of previous choices continue to weigh and there is a desire to turn the page," confirming that "the trade unions have repeatedly called on to test the hypothesis Fiat worker's consent.

" Raffaele Bonanni of the CISL, the first to leave the meeting, said: "The company is not encouraged to invest, we have insisted that however the investment is not lost." On the same themes he beat the general secretary of Uil, Luigi Angeletti, "It is essential that maintains the investment in Fiat Italy.

The company is waiting for a conclusive answer on the proposal he did. We asked, if the answer is no, to choose another site, but to maintain the production of Maserati and the necessary investment in our country. The priorities are in order for the UIL Bertone, Turin, Piedmont and Italy.
