GM: born in Turin, a new turbo-diesel for India

The Engineering Center of Turin General Motors announced a new 1.0 three-cylinder turbodiesel, which will go into production in June. The engine in question, as specified by the manufacturer, is designed to meet the needs of the Indian market, putting on the same level considerations of cost, performance and efficiency.

This new compact engine is capable of delivering a maximum torque of 140 Nm at 1750 rpm (category record in the Indian market), of which 100 are already available at 1250 rpm, a value of torque that acts as a worldwide reference for the "mini-diesel." The development center in Turin and one in India have collaborated to design an engine whose characteristics reflect the requirements of the region.
