K2 Kia Motor Show Shanghai 2011

At the Shanghai Motor Show 2011 Kia will unveil the new K2, a sort of cross between the Rio and Optima. The sedan was designed by Korean car manufacturer for the Chinese market and created a joint venture with Dongfeng Yueda. The K2 will go into production at the plant of Dongfeng Yueda Kia, Jiangsu Province, from June.

The 5-door hatchback and will be released instead of the factory since August. 4.37 meters long, 1.46 wide, with a wheelbase of 2.57 (the best in its class) and a boot capacity of 500 liters, the car is bigger than the models from which it derives. The K2 is available in six different models, both with petrol engines from 1.4 liters to 1.6 liters, combined with manual or automatic transmissions.

With this model, Kia aims to strengthen even more the production of B-segment, which currently represents 17% of its sales in China.
