Mercedes Class A Concept at Shanghai Auto Show

If it is not just a revolution we're missing, what is certain, though, is that the A-Class Mercedes Concept that will submit to the Shanghai Motor Show a few weeks has all the flavor of being a model "rupture" with the past. In fact, the concept that anticipates the future Class A leaves the line and the philosophy of an MPV compact to open a car body characterized by traits that approach a true coupe.

The lines are inspired, not surprisingly, those of the casual styles of home in Stuttgart, as the F800 Style, and there is a top-level technological equipment, which translates into a futuristic cockpit, which incorporates a center of the dashboard even a smartphone. Technically, Mercedes Class A Concept shows a 4-cylinder turbo engine with direct injection gasoline powered and capable of delivering 210 hp, mated to a dual-clutch automatic transmission and front wheel drive.

The platform on which it is born is new and should be based on at least four other Mercedes models that will be presented in the next few years, including future Class B. The external LED lights are made instead of 90 elements in optical fiber, as well as a radar system integrated into the Adaptive Brake Assist system that prevents rear-end collisions.

High-tech, the interior, minimalist as befits a prototype of a lounge, with all the functions of COMAND infotainment system in the main collections Online. The next Class will therefore work to make inroads in the heart of the younger audience thanks to its sporty lines, thus abandoning the philosophy of an MPV that has so far attracted an older audience and less carefree.
