Mercedes has released pictures and information officers of the E 63 AMG, unveiled at the show in New York and with the new 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 M157 already proposed on the CLS 63 AMG. The V8 will be offered in 525 and 557 hp versions, the latter including nell'AMG Performance Package, which also raises the torque from 700 Nm to 800 compared to the old naturally aspirated V8 consumption fell by 22%, with an average of 9, 8 l/100 km and 230 g / km of CO2 that rises to 10 l/100 km for the station wagon, thanks to the Start / Stop system.
The V8 is mated to Speedshift MCT 7-speed automatic transmission with mode Controlled Efficiency, Sport, Sport + and Manual, and the handling is managed by 'AMG Ride Control, which acts on the suspension settings and the new electro-hydraulic power steering: the front axle has been revised with wide track of 56 mm, while the rear is a self-leveling system.
The new 18-inch alloy wheels, are fitted with 255/40 front and 285/35 rear tires and hide the braking system, an option that can be either carbon-ceramic, lighter than 40%. The new E 63 AMG accelerates to 100 km / h acceleration in 4.3 seconds (4.2 to 557 hp version), time stretching in the case of a tenth version of the Station, while all the top speed is governed to 250 km / h or 300 km / h, you buy a special package that includes a course of riding.
The vehicles with the AMG Performance Package offer coverage in carbon fiber for the engine, sport steering wheel with Alcantara, red brake calipers and carbon fiber details view for the front bumper. All versions, however, have been updated in the cockpit with aluminum shift paddles, sport steering wheel taken from the CLS 63 AMG and the new gear selector with AMG logo printed.
Optional features include limited slip differential, revised carbon for the interior, alloy wheels 19 "and exterior trim carbon fiber exposed. The new Mercedes E63 AMG will be available from September 2011, prices in line with the previous model. Those referred to the European level, including taxes, amounted to 105,971 euros for the sedan and station wagon for 108,409 Euro, the AMG Performance Package is offered at 8306.20 euros, while the Driver's Package includes driving course and speed limiter to 300 km / h costs 3213 Euro.
