With over 10 thousand vehicles on the road (16% of the total Italian) Rome is the home of the minicar. And Rome is at the forefront to counter the dangerous phenomenon of small cars modified or, in slang, "rigged." With the protocol signed by the mayor Alemanno 90 workshops in the capital are committed to a code of responsibility that requires not to change the engines of the minicar, if this type of intervention is required.
The goal is to create a network of "safe" marked with a special stamp, but also the isituzione of a technical initiatives within the framework of shared awareness, especially for younger people. The protocol, as explained by the Assessor mobility, Antonello Aurigemma, "goes in the direction of prevention" and aims to spread it to all members of law abiding behavior.
"I confess - Mayor Gianni Alemanno said after signing the protocol - a personal interest in official records as having a son avid consumer of minicar. With this protocol we give a reference point for all households to ensure that these mechanisms be compromised. So there will be more security for children and for the whole city.
" The site of the City of Rome will soon feature a section with a list of participating shops, which potrebberoaumentare in the future.
