New Subaru Impreza: a clean break with the past

At the Salon of New York were also removed their veils Subaru Impreza, the new generation of Japanese sedan that the American living room has proven to be raised, not only in the literal sense. The new Impreza is in fact a car and its more mature with age seems to have changed their priorities, once focused sporting appearance, moving now to a different perspective, which focuses on comfort and space on board, with a focus on the vision: issues once unthinkable for these three volumes with a strong connotation of "racing", but that probably will help to make inroads in the heart of a greater number of motorists, while disappointing, perhaps the "purists" who saw the Impreza road the revival of a rally car for years that separate the world.

But times change, as well as the Impreza has changed. Subaru has chosen to give priority to different aspects than in the past and you will see the passenger space and a few other pockets for storing drinks, mobile phones or other items, or doors that increase of 5 cm of open space by promoting accessibility, while rear passengers gain two inches of legroom and benefit from the greater overall volume of the passenger related to the wheelbase.

To grow and then the trunk, which provides a flat load floor configuration with reclining back in 60/40, while the seats have been built focusing on comfort, with higher backs and increased lumbar support very useful for those who travel a lot and often. The Subaru Impreza does not forget all his past and is noted in the confirmation of four-wheel drive, which matches the new 1.6-liter 4-cylinder boxer petrol associated with an unprecedented five-speed manual transmission that can be preferred Lineartronic CVT Continuously Variable Transmission.

Also introduced some improvements to the suspension in order to dampen vibration and improve the absorption of road bumps, and also to ensure driving performance worthy of the history of the model. Good technological equipment, which, although still officially with regard to all the various markets in which the Impreza will be sold, should include 16-inch alloy wheels or 17 inch, front seats and heated outside mirrors, automatic climate control, steering wheel with built-in controls for audio system, 6.1 inch LCD touch screen for managing information on-board complete with voice control and Bluetooth support.

We have deliberately left any consideration of the line, which is a strong symbol of this new Subaru Impreza. Leaving aside any subjective comment on the issue, just looking outside it seems clear that the Japanese sedan has changed his skin, leaving the "excesses" of the past to choose a path more conformist, more "normal" for a choice that may not will be appreciated nor understood by all, but obviously that Subaru thought necessary and inevitable for a model now in its fourth generation.
