New York 2011: Jaguar accelerated with diesel

For the first appearance of the Jaguar XF, the traditional British brand, has chosen its second largest market. The Jaguar XF had its premiere at the New York Auto Show (nyas) on Wednesday 20 April 2011, the first press day of the exhibition, to Sunday, 1 May 2011 take. The attraction of the new one: a four-cylinder diesel with 2.2 liter displacement and 140 kW / 190 hp, which consumes an average of the EU standard only 5.4 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers.

The new engine was developed in cooperation with the French automotive group PSA and is coupled in the Jaguar XF with the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. This is the first link between a four-cylinder diesel and the ultra-modern, fast-switching gear. The high number of gears is used to keep the revs low and allows the operation of the engine in the optimum rpm range.

Jaguar has especially highlighted the newly designed start-stop system, the engine in any position very quickly brings back up and running. The performance of the XF with the 450-Nm diesel match at the maximum speed of 225 km / h and acceleration from zero to 100 in 8.5 second mark. The weaker of the two six-cylinder diesel develops not so much more that the four-cylinder would have to hide behind (176 kW / 240 PS, 500 Nm).

The New emits 149 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometer and meets Euro 5 The ZF eight-speed automatic shifts very quickly and is also able to connect several courses to skip, for example, from eighth to second gear when full acceleration is desired. The internal friction was reduced, which contributes to the favorable Kraftstoffverbtauch.

With its hydraulic impulse storage allows a start-stop system. For the first time on board the following technologies: adaptive light-beam assistant, LED daytime running lights, emergency brake assist intelligent, a new audio module with 30 GB of memory and all the interfaces (USB, Bluetooth, iPod).

Externally, the XF a thorough facelift was subjected, as is usual, after half of the model cycle. The XF was a completely new front end with new headlights and shallow inlets along with the chrome honeycomb grille. The new face looks wider and thereby approaches the flagship Jaguar XJ also in design.
