Suzuki presented at this year's New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) (22.4.-1.5.2011) vehicle study of a hybrid version of the Kizashi mid-size model - the "Concept Kizashi EcoCharge. The modern and futuristic appearance is rounded off with LED fog lights and sporty alloy wheels. The study underlines the Japanese auto manufacturers the importance of environment friendly technologies in its research and development work.
Is powered Kizashi Concept Eco-Charge of a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 106 kW / 144 hp 106 kW, which has a maximum torque of 173 Nm at 4500 rpm. Power is transmitted via a six-speed automatic. Instead of the alternator was installed a liquid-cooled electric motor that delivers 11 kW / 15 hp.
The energy stored in an air-cooled 115 V lithium ion batteries. The combination of both drives reduces fuel consumption by 25 percent over the production vehicle and by the electric motor provides additional thrust for the acceleration of the vehicle.
