Olivier Francois, "Lancia Ypsilon does not arrive in the U.S."

In a recent interview with Salon in New York, Olivier Francois, head of the Lancia brand, and Chrysler announced that there will be no version "rebadged" the Ypsilon to be sold in the United States. A decision, far from obvious, taken to leave the field open to the Fiat 500. According to the Italian-American group in fact a "Chrysler Ypsilon" could mark in style and philosophy too closely at the small home of Fiat.

Francois also said that the American brand would be carefully re-evaluating the idea of joining in the C segment (the Ford Focus) with its own proposal. A diplomatic way of saying "do not do it"? Probably. Then the group should remain only Dodge to bring something in this range: according to Ralph Gilles, chief executive of the brand, the car is already at the design stage and will be very competitive and a business proposal with an eye to efficiency.
