Opel Astra 2.0 CDTI: here comes the Start / Stop

Opel introduces the Start / Stop technology Astro 2.0 CDTI with the aim of reducing fuel consumption and emissions. Equipped with 6-speed manual transmission, the average German is able to save about 0.8 liters per 100 kilometers traveled compared to the same version without Start / Stop, and then with a gain of 13%.

In combined cycle consumption amounted to 4.5 liters per 100 km and 119 g / km of CO2 compared to 4.9 l/100 km and 129 g / km of the previous model. But slightly higher values reported by family home for her sister Astra Sports Tourer: 4.7 liters of diesel per 100 km (there were 5.1 liters) and 124 g / km of CO2 against 134.

The ability to pollute less, however, not matched by a decline in performance since the power of 2.0 Cdti total remains unchanged at 160 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The decision to introduce the Start / Stop technology - already available on the Corsa and Agila - part of the policy of greater environmental sustainability that translates into CleanTech Combustion Technology ensuring a cleaner combustion, less waste, greater efficiency of the engine, thanks to a Improved clutch, and an indicator on the exchange of reports that help the driver know when to change gear to reduce fuel consumption.

Specifically, the Start / Stop system falls nell'ecoFlex Technology Package at a cost of 300 €, which includes a more robust self-starter, a high-performance battery that can prevent delays in starting up and the possibility for ' motorists to switch off the system at any time.
