Opel Corsa OPC Nrburgring Edition

Olympus of sports city car, the Opel Corsa OPC stands out as one of the most performance cars and fun on the market, thanks to the emotions offered by the 192 hp delivered by its 1.6-liter supercharged. Although the two volumes of Russelsheim is one of the most powerful cars in its class, the sports department Opel Performance Center have seen fit to go further by creating the new Corsa OPC Nürburgring Edition, limited version of the compact German, with up to 210 hp.

Dedicated to the legendary German circuit, the OPC Nurburgring Edition will be completed in only 500 units available for allocation in the European markets. Aesthetically this Super vitaminized is recognizable by the logo "Nürburgring Edition" stamped on the sill and embroidered on the backrests of the sports seats with built-in headrest, made by Recaro.

The upgrade of performance prepared by the technical department of the German motorsport covered several parts of the already powerful 1.6-liter turbocharged, including increasing the turbo pressure and improvement of electronic management of the engine. It has also been replaced with a new exhaust system optimized to run on 100 octane gasoline.

The result of this refinement has resulted in an increase in power from 192 to 210 hp, while peak torque has risen from a value of 233 to 260 Nm, upgradeable up to 280 Nm, thanks to the overboost function. With these numbers it is easy to imagine superlative performance which translates into a 0 to 100 km / h in just 6.8 seconds, compared to 7.2 used by the OPC "standard", and a top speed of 230 km / h (225 the normal OPC).

Obviously the technical improvement has also affected the suspension system that now benefits from an original system with springs and Bilstein shock absorbers made by specialists and supported by a mechanical limited slip differential multi-disc, which can improve the speed of entry and exit from fast corners.

As for the braking system, the Nurburgring Edition has an ad hoc system created by Brembo, with high-performance brake pads that work in tandem with electronic traction control devices and ABS, both setup specifically for this release. The Corsa "Nurburgring Edition" can be ordered from the official network of the Italian Opel from next summer, at a price that should be somewhere between 23,000 and 25,000 €.
