Peugeot SXC

Shown in Asia, but it could well be a model to market in the European market. The French manufacturer surprised with his crossover concept with hybrid technology could become a genuine rival to the Lexus RX. This is the Peugeot SXC. Born in the Peugeot design studies of the "China Tech Center in Shanghai.

And it shows in their car show. Hence its designation as a concept SXC, which refers to Shanghai Cross Concept. Peugeot shows how the future of the brand crossover, a vehicle category is increasingly popular in China. Has chosen Hybrid4 technology, with engines smaller than the Lexus RX, with a heat engine in the front (which drives the front wheels) and an electric motor in the rear (which drives the rear axle).

This technology allows the four-wheel drive when both engines running at the same time. But get into it. Under the bonnet, Peugeot has unveiled a 1.6-liter internal combustion engine rated at 218 hp. At the rear lies a 70 kW electric motor (about 95 hp). The set allows a power of 313 hp with an average consumption of just 5.8 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 143 g / km.

His own four-passenger interior is clearly singled out as if it were a Porsche Panamera. There is a technical necessity because the system does not require a bulky Hybrid4 central tunnel. Foreign language ability is repeated inside, following the beginning of 3008, as a large center console and head-up display that projects information on the front windshield.

Doors invade the dashboard, as well as the instrumentation is of great presence, with screens arrayed around the wheel. This takes a form that seems impractical, but it does not fill the recent trends of buttons and controls. The gear knob is no longer such, without yielding to the temptation to do it for buttons, something possible because it is an automatic.

Front hallmark of the brand unique grille "floating" which seems to be separated from the body, headlight design "cat" decorated with a strip of LED light emitting diodes, and an emblem located in the recess of the hood. In profile, the system highlights opening its doors, which open in the opposite direction to the usual style of Opel Meriva or Rolls-Royce Phantom.

With a length of 4.87 meters, a height of 1.61 and a width of 2.03 m (including mirrors), the SXC is presented as an alternative to the Lexus RX, but is slightly larger. What do you think?
