Range Rover hybrid in 2013, in 2014 EREV

In an interview with InsideLine, director of brand John Edwards has confirmed the arrival of the first Range Rover with a hybrid engine. This technology will initially be available on larger models in the range, where the fuel will be more evident, but not with the formula view of the diesel-hybrid concept Range_E presented at the recent Geneva Motor Show: the first model will in fact be based on the 2012 Range Rover and will use a V6 gasoline engine, Garat performance worthy of the V8.

Diesel has been ruled out for the moment mainly due to higher costs and low customer interest for the Americans in this type of fuel. In the next 5 years the hybrid versions will then be extended to the rest of the range, excluding the Evoque already denied, and could debut as early as 2014 EREV an electric version of the Range, the Range Extender has probably developed by Lotus using the same technology that we will find on Jaguar models.
