Renault 4 Ever: here's how to be born future R4

To celebrate half a century of history of the Renault 4, the French company decided to organize a special initiative called "Renault 4 Ever" and created in collaboration with the site designboom. com, aimed at enthusiasts, aspiring designers. Competitors will be asked to reinterpret in a modern lines of the "historical" R4, model symbol of an era, the '60s, during which he represented a true icon of freedom.

The theme that will inspire the novice designer is based on the concept of "circular economy", that "nothing is lost and nothing is created, but everything changes," going to paraphrase a famous expression related to energy. Inscriptions have already submitted nearly 500 competitors from more than 60 countries, with a predominance of members who come from the USA and India.

The drawings submitted by the participants on what will be a candidate to be like the future Renault 4 will be assessed by a jury, which will among its members the head of design Renault Laurens van den Acker. Those interested can send their proposals via the partner site of the event by June 16, 2011, and the winners will be announced in July.

First place goes to the R4 of 1965 who took part last Monte Carlo Historique, a model whose value comes to about € 15,000, while the second and third prize will be cash prizes of 5,000 and 3,000 euro respectively.
