Rolls-Royce EWB Ghost at the Shanghai Auto Show

The least elitist of the Rolls-Royce are available in a long wheelbase version, to ensure that wealthy Asian customers more convenient travel with chauffeur. This new model is expected to be introduced in all markets of the Spirit of Ecstasy, but the premiere of China wishes to emphasize that "Asian markets have an increasing strategic importance to Rolls Royce," as stated by CEO Torsten Muller-Otvos.

Which he prophesied that the new Ghost EWB will soon be the best-selling luxury brand in China: "For some customers the Phantom is perceived as a car too big, too formal, too expensive. The ghost car is exploitable EWB daily, which allows excellent chauffeur transfers during the week and great fun to drive on weekends.

" The mechanics of the resumes of the Ghost "base" and then find the mighty 6.6 V12 from 563 hp and 780 Nm, several technologies derived from the BMW 7 Series, and the luxurious interior. The only difference lies in extending the body of +17 cm, all for the benefit of rear seat passengers.

However, to avoid a flashy "effect limousine, fine English designers have redesigned the rear doors lengthening of only 3.5 cm. And to give a further sense of the interior space, added to the list of standard accessories, a large glass roof that compensates for the lengthening of the roof.

For the occasion were also redesigned the wheel rims. Overall, the rear passengers gain enough room to stretch out your legs, or recline the seat and take a nap, while the outer line gains in elegance and grandeur despite being much more slender statuary of the Phantom. The total length is quite remarkable, 5:57 m, and midway between the Audi A8L (5.27) and the Pharaonic Maybach (5.7) and Phantom (5.84), at a value just happens to coincide with the length of the historic British rival The Bentley Mulsanne.

The Ghost EWB is the first Rolls-Royce in China, but also the early evolution of a product that will soon be declined in other variations. There would be on the launch pad, according to sources better informed, a variant of open and more sporty silhouette with a coupe, along the lines of the Phantom range.

However, no official statement to date has confirmed the arrival of these evenutali Ghost "Drophead", for which apparently there are already potential customers ready to sign for them in their garage. And with regard to contracts for the purchase, nothing has yet transpired on the list price of the new Ghost EWB, but it seems that the price increase than the short wheelbase version is contained in an honest 20%.

Consider that the "entry level" of the British brand is sold in Italy from 260 000 €.
