Toyota fights with Apple but backtracks

Last February, Toyota had developed a custom theme for iPhone in order to publicize the Scion brand (popular in the U.S. market). So far, nothing unusual except that the issue in question (screesaver, background and display different icons) was distributed via Cydia, the smartphone platform parallel dedicated to "unlock" the Apple, thus bypassing the official one.

The campaign Toyota did not happen at all under the table, but full of light, and supported through a real promotional operation set up by the Japanese giant. The thing obviously did not like the top of Apple who promptly asked to suspend the spot and remove the application because it does not directly authorized by Apple.

A request that is successful and that the Toyota has justified the perspective of wanting to "maintain good relations" with the company of Steve Jobs. But history seems to dress in the final hours of another interesting idea. Rumor has it the Japanese giant would soon announce a partnership with a direct competitor to Apple, that Microsoft to launch a shared technology platform dedicated specifically to the automotive sector, which include management of calls, music, satellite navigation and of course targati Windows smartphone applications.
