Introducing another new Volkswagen in the Wörthersee Tour 2011, Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet Concept R, the convertible version of the most powerful Golf ever lived. Introducing the Volkswagen Golf GTi Edition 35, the German manufacturer has unveiled at the Wörthersee Tour 2011 Golf convertible version of the most powerful, R Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet Concept.
At the moment this is a prototype we do not know anything about their path to production, but given its resemblance to the coupe version is not unreasonable. As it has a 25 mm lowered suspension, counting in this case with a new 19-inch wheels dubbed "Talladega." As for the engine, we are talking about the same engine as the version we already know, ie a 2-liter TFSI with 270 hp and 35.71 Nm of torque.
Not change either the performance of this convertible version of Golf R, whose maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h, capable of reaching 100 km / h from standstill in 5.7 seconds. Where you lose some acceleration when riding with the top down, although these figures have not been published.
As for aesthetics, differs little from the conventional version of the Golf R. Externally, apart from the typical elements of a cabriolet, does not change anything about the Golf R, while the interior features Nappa leather seats upholstered in gray and the back in black. It presents details of aluminum and carbon.
