Geneva 2011: Volkswagen presents the new Tiguan

Volkswagen shows on the 81st Geneva Motor Show (1st-13.03.2011) the world premiere of the new Tiguan. Still, the Tiguan is the only SUV in its class available in a choice-based on-road or off-road-oriented version can be ordered - in conjunction with the top equipment as "Track & Style" and "Sport & Style".

The new Tiguan is again available in two versions with different slope angles. While the classic model with an angle of 18 degrees more responsive on-road driver, the Tiguan is recommended with the larger slope angle of 28 degrees to all those who use the SUV off the trail.

To drive seven engines to choose from. The four straight turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engines between 90 kW / 122 PS and 155 kW / 210 PS. A range of 81 kW / 110 PS to 125 kW / 170 PS identifies the three diesel engines. For the revised Tiguan is the optional 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) is available.

All models with Blue Motion Technologies (BMT) also have a start-stop system. The exchange values of the new SUV could thus be reduced by up to 0.7 liters per 100 kilometers (according to EU standard).
