Mazda MX-5 Special Edition celebrates a record

The Mazda MX-5 has just recently celebrated the milestone of 900,000 units sold in 21 years and 10 months after production of the first model that was introduced in April 1989. As often happens in these circumstances Mazda wanted to celebrate this record with an exclusive version of its roadster, the 2011 MX-5 Special Edition, which will be at the Show in Chicago from the 11th to February 20th.

It will be produced only 750 models. To distinguish this special is the interior, with gray upholstery, heated leather seats with gray stitching, the handbrake covered in black leather as the steering wheel, again with contrasting gray stitching and chrome surrounds for the air vents and tools.

The aluminum pedals are provided for models with a manual six-speed transmission. For the exterior you can choose between the two new colors Sparkling Black Mica and Dolphin Gray Mica, in addition to the 17-inch alloy wheels with gloss finish. Apart from these valuable aesthetic and interventions to improve the suspension, the MX-5 Special Edition is identical to the standard model with an engine of 167 hp and 190 Nm of torque.

Will be available with the canvas roof with retractable hard top. Prices start at $ 30,925 (€ 22,700) for version change of Manali and from $ 31,525 (€ 23,120) for the version with automatic transmission.
