'The Italian history of the Jetta was never characterized by large volumes (as opposed to instead of the U.S. market) but to say that there are many improvements with the new model. First, was designed by Walter de Silva (chief designer of the Group) which, as stated, has invested heavily in the production of the Jetta.
Harmonious proportions, clean lines, so to tap the anonymity and overall quality of a higher typical sedan. It is no longer simply a "Golf with the tail" and also forms the evidence: the front reminiscent of Polo, the tail of the Audi A4. The longer wheelbase than its predecessor (7 cm) gives more space on board, and more comfort on long trips.
Noteworthy is the luggage compartment, which now has a capacity of no less than 490 liters. Under the hood lies the BlueMotion technology, designed to reduce consumption and make the whole more efficient car. The engines for the Italian market are two means a petrol 1.2 TSI with 105 hp and a 1.6 turbo diesel of similar power.
The driving feel is excellent and, thanks to the reduced width and a good turning radius, you can easily walk to whether citizens even during peak hours. The strong point of consumption: in our tests (with the 1.2 TSI), the onboard computer scored 5.8 liters per hundred kilometers, equal to 17.2 km / l.
Given the kind of car is a good result. As mentioned the Jetta is not designed for large numbers of sales on the European market, but given the overall quality and ease of use do not be surprised contradict expectations. Prices from € 20,900.
