The European Commission Vice President Antonio Tajani, will propose to the President of the FIA, Jean Todt, an international Grand Prix reserved for electric cars and a vintage car. The feeling is that fans of the world of four wheels would appreciate maybe a race car before, but remain "stunned" in front of a race of electric motors that slide on the asphalt without uttering a sound.
The project, however, could go on and in the coming years we could have some sort of Formula 1 for environmentally friendly cars. A precedent already exists: the end of last year has created a league for zero-emission vehicles, the EV cup. For now this is racing more than anything else at an experimental level, even if you take on major circuits such as Silverstone and Brands Hatch, UK.
Other races will be held in summer and autumn in Spain, Portugal and the United States.
