Mazda 22 March 2011, the production in its factories in Hiroshima and Hofu in southwestern Japan partially resumed. At both locations again spare parts and parts for vehicle production at the plants outside Japan are made by Mazda. On the other hand, the company is now ready for those vehicles that had been controlled before the earthquake in the production process.
In Hofu Mazda is the construction of these vehicles on 28 March end, then goes on the production of parts. A decision on the full resumption of production of parts and vehicles in two plants in Japan will be made at a later date. Mazda produces up to the pick-up BT-50, all sold in Germany and Europe models in Japan.
All vehicles manufactured in Japan and components according to the company for customer health completely harmless. The Japanese Mazda's plants in Hiroshima and Hofu are about 1,000 kilometers from the disaster area and were not damaged by the earthquake or the tsunami. Due to the large geographic distance Mazda includes a radioactive contamination of the events at the nuclear power plant in Fukushima in principle.
With the resumption of production is still guaranteed by appropriate reviews of the safe condition of vehicles and spare parts.
