Among the characters who these days flock to the Seoul Motor Show (1-10 April) Chevrolet Miray is a fascinating prototype electric roadster built by the Korean headquarters of General Motors. The Miray (meaning "future" in Korean) was created to celebrate 100 years of American brand: its muscular and futuristic shapes are characterized by a particularly high belt line that mixes with sharp edges and sharp cuts.
Among the many scenic details that distinguish the car are the wheel arches that house generous size from the large 21-inch alloy wheels for the front and 22 for the rear, while the small windscreen gives an extremely low profile. To "decrease" in the car you have to open the doors that conceal a small vertical and sporting cabin designed for two people and features a dashboard that combines into a single element to the center console that surrounds and separates at the same time in two environments separate driver and passenger of the car.
The steering wheel hides the aviation-inspired instrumentation and multimedia system that will be played on two screens with tactile feedback. The American roadster uses a hybrid mechanism that relies on two electric motors of 20 hp each positioned on the front while the rear axle is driven by a gasoline-turbocharged 1.5-liter, all supported by an automatic transmission double clutch.
The sum of the thermal power units with electric four-wheel drive allows you to have very similar in concept to that used by Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4. The Miray can also move using only the electric drive powered by a pack of lithium ion batteries from 1.6 kWh, which allow a range of a few tens of miles, on the other hand a kinetic energy recovery device is designed to charge the batteries during braking or deceleration of the vehicle simple.
During the press conference at the Salon Chevrolet Asia, the leaders of the House have secured a commercial future for this new eco-friendly sport, although we doubt that will ever reach the markets of the continent due to the strict European standards in terms of approval and safety. What is certain is that the design of future Miray inspire the American style of house that points in the coming years to increase sports personalities and connotation of their cars.
