AMG launches definitively a new AMG 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 that replaces the previous 6.3-liter. The latest model of the German brand that incorporates this new engine is the Mercedes E63 AMG. The E63 AMG Mercedes becomes the latest model with the acronym AMG V8 engine incorporating the new 5.5-liter twin-turbo, which replaces the former and 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V8.
This new engine is rated at 525 hp with maximum torque of 71.43 mkg in its normal configuration, while the AMG Performance Pack the power rises up to 557 hp with maximum torque of 81.63 Nm. In addition to this new engine configuration, it offers high performance injectors and Stop / Start, causing this whole savings in fuel consumption of 22 percent.
Official figures speak of an average expenditure of 9.8 liters per 100 kilometers, a significant number if we consider the performance of the mechanics at hand. Associated with this new engine is the gearbox AMG Speedshift MCT seven relations, which has three different modes designed to achieve greater comfort or extreme sports when driving.
These modes are the S (Sport), S + (Sport plus) and M (Manual).
