At the Amsterdam Motor Show 2011 was presented the 2012 Ford Focus ECOnetic, the car that will topple a lot of fuel consumption and harmful emissions. The 2012 Focus ECOnetic will consume only 3.5 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers driven and emit 95 g / km of CO2. The engine that will allow these emissions and fuel consumption is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder TDCi which produces an output of 105 horsepower with modifications to the injection, the turbo and the cooling system.
Besides the engine to reduce fuel consumption and emissions is due to some changes to the 6-speed manual transmission that have been lengthened and reduce the friction due to a lubricant. Ford engineers have been busy at the level of aerodynamics, in fact, the Ford Focus ECOnetic is able to automatically close the front air intake leading to a 2% reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide.
Even the hubcaps are aerodynamics and low resistance tires, so everything was planned in optical label. They could not miss to ECOnetic Focus on the Start & Stop system, the brake energy recovery system and information system Eco Mode to indicate the level of savings.
