On the main European markets saw the debut of Opel Insignia 4-cylinder engine equipped with ecoFLEX 1.4 turbo petrol 140 bhp, already seen on Astra and Meriva. The engine will replace the old 16-valve 8.1 intake unit, capable of the same power but a lower maximum torque: 175 Nm at 3800 rpm compared to 200 at 1850 rpm the new turbo unit.
With this engine the car will be equipped with the Star & Stop system for better management of fuel in urban areas. The CO2 emissions are limited to 136 g / km for the sedan (compared to the old 179, 1.8) and 139 for the station wagon. The prices should be significantly different from those of the Insignia with 1.8 engine.
