Were distributed directly by BMW a few photos that show the new Mini Coupe, the two places that the house will lead to the English official debut at the next Frankfurt Motor Show 2011. The car shown in the pictures is obviously a prototype, whose lines are not observed due to leave almost no camufatture, which in this case are limited to cover a few details and the tail of the roof.
The Sports Compact Mini is thus presented with a car body identical in size to the popular sedan, from which it differs, however, the height from the ground, which in this case is reduced by 2.9 cm to ensure a better grip and greater stability due to the lower center of gravity, not to mention a different weight distribution (which here is moving a bit 'towards the front axle) due to the lack of rear seats.
Attention to the dynamics is also known by the choice of technical English to give the Coupé a movable rear wing, able to switch on automatically when the car exceeds 80 km / h. The line is sleek and perfectly in tune with the philosophy Mini, with the rear which, though disguised, seems to link up well with the sloping roof, giving a good balance and not distorting the overall volume than other body variants currently in range.
The supply of engines for the new Mini Coupe is divided into four different units, which are added together as many outfits. At the base of the range is the 1.6-petrol Cooper with 122 hp and 160 Nm of torque engine, which allows acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 9 seconds and a top speed of 204 km / h, with consumption average of 5.4 liters per 100 km.
It continues with the Cooper S, offered with three different engines, including the 1.6 Twin-Scroll turbo 184 hp and 240 Nm to 260 Nm, which come with the overboost, for performances that stood in a top speed of 230 km / h and a step at 0-100 in 6.9 seconds, while consumption of 5.8 l/100 km.
Instead, there is the 2.0 diesel 143 hp and 305 Nm on the SD Cooper Coupe, which has a top speed of 216 km / h and a consumption of 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers, while the top bid is the John Cooper Works version 1.6 with its twin-scroll here that delivers 211 horsepower and good torque of 260 Nm, enough to make them touch a speed of 240 km / h and sprints from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.4 seconds, come with consumption at 7.1 l/100 km.
With the spread of the first pictures of BMW then sought to present a preview of the new Mini Coupe to the public, the commercial venture which will begin some time, of course after the official presentation in Frankfurt.
