New BMW M5 F10

Officially presented the new BMW M5, F10 initials of the project, providing all the technical details and a gallery of over 120 high risuluzione images. The fifth-generation M5 sedan immediately shows its claws with its new 4.4-liter V8 Turbo TwinPower (maximum pressure 1.5 bar) with direct injection and Valvetronic, which delivers 560 hp between 6000 and 7000 rpm with maximum torque of 680 Nm virtually flat from 1500 to 5750 rpm, combined with M-DCT dual-clutch gearbox 7 gears with paddles on the steering wheel, 3 programming modes D1, D2 and D3 in automatic and three manual version in S1, S2 and S3: the latter turning off the DSC also allows to access the Lauch Control.

The change is related to Active M differential lock to multiple discs with electronic control, able to vary the percentage of block from 0 to 100% according to signals received from the DSC, the throttle position, the running speed of the tires and all 'yaw angle. The new M5 touches 100 km / h acceleration in 4.4 seconds and 200 mph in 13 seconds, while top speed is electronically governed to 250 km / h, rising to 305 km / h opting for the optional M Driver's Package.

The average consumption of 9.9 l/100 km with emissions of 232 g / km of CO2 represents a drastic reduction of 30% compared to the outgoing V10, with the integration of the Efficient Dynamics system with Start-Stop and energy recovery in braking. The dry weight of the new M5 is equal to 1870 kg, very close to the normal 5 Series petrol and diesel price.

The car can count on the parametric M Servotronic power steering setup with 3, the suspension DDC electrical control setup with 3 and the M Dynamic Mode that influsce calibration of traction and stability control system DSC. All part of a suspension has been revised, with new attacks reinforced.

The specific M leather steering wheel are now two M Drive button to call up two different user-defined setup, combining throttle response, steering response, program changed Drivelogic, settings of Efficient engine, Sport and Sport Plus settings DSC, settings and functions of head of the DDC-up Display.

BMW also offers all the options normally available on the 5 Series, the ConnectedDrive system with active internet connection to the seats until the glass roof in April.
