Opel Astra GTC

Astra GTC, Opel presents the new version of the Astra coupe that will debut in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The sportiness of the model is highlighted by some technical choices, such as the unique front suspension HiPerStrut (High Performance Strut) derived from Insignia OPC, while rear-axle torque is the pattern with Watt other versions of Astra.

GTC will also be available on the structure FlexRide electronically controlled with standard settings, Tour and Sport. Designed to emphasize the aggressive style, the GTC does not share any body panels with the 5-door, to which it has a pitch larger than 10 mm, while the front track increased by 40 mm and 30 mm at the rear.

The structure is lower than 15 mm compared to the hatchback, while the alloy wheels from 18 "to 20" underline the sporty. The interior is still comfortable for five passengers and the boot offers one of the best segment of capacities with values between 370 and 1235 liters, while in the cockpit have increased by 50% storage space compared to previous-generation coupe.

According to Opel, the GTC value 20% of the total sales of the Astra in Europe. The range will consist of three engines and a diesel petrol versions, but already in Frankfurt will be announced new versions: the more evil OPC we will have to wait until 2012. At launch the only diesel engine will be the 2-liter CDTI 165 hp and 380 Nm of torque, paired with 6-speed manual gearbox and the Start / Stop system.

Faced with an average consumption of 4.9 l/100 km and 129 g / km of CO2, this version touches the 210 km / h to 100 km / h acceleration in 5.9 seconds. The petrol range comprises the 1.4 Turbo 120 and 140 hp versions, with Start / Stop and average consumption of 5.9 l/100 km and 139 g / km of C02 and the top of the line 1.6-liter Turbo 180 hp through which the GTC can touch 220 km / h.

The new Opel Astra GTC is equipped with all the latest technology available on Opel models, starting from the second generation Opel Eye camera. The system provides the Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR) which integrates recognition of traffic signs in the navigation system, Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and the system for checking the safety distance Following Distance Indication (FDI).

The new bi-xenon adaptive fourth-generation AFL + functions instead complement including the control of the High Beam Assist beam and the beam of the Intelligent Light Ranging (ILR). The interior echoes the design of the other Astra models, with new fabrics and new colors for the coatings in different trim levels.

Option will be available in nappa leather and Alcantara, as well as new 8-way adjustable seats with lumbar support and an elongated seat, while all versions will offer a series of leather sports steering wheel. The new Astra GTC, already booked in to dealers, will be offered with prices ranging between Euro 19,600 of elective 1.4 Turbo 120 hp and 26,100 Euro S Cosmo 2.0 CDTI 165 hp.
