Project Better Place: 90,000 requests for electric cars in Israel

The project Better Place will start officially next month in Israel. Born in California and supported by the Renault Nissan group, the system provides for the sale of electric cars and the ability to change the battery pack in special automated stations, instead of the classic (and longer) with the charging cable.

Just the formula to replace the battery pack should solve the classic anxiety autonomy that inhibits the passage to the electric car, the predictions of the creators of the system. The car that will sell Better Place in Israel is derived from the Renault Fluence.

It will have a range of 160 miles, excellent for commuting and the owners will buy packages of refills annual mileage of a comprehensive pre-and access to the centers to change the battery: in Israel, for example, the car will be offered with a package of 3 years and 25,000 km per year at a price of 46,000 dollars, or the price of 36,000 dollars with monthly packages from 320 to 470 dollars depending on the mileage.

The price includes the installation of a home charging station.
