Toyota FT-86: video and new details

The Toyobaru is definitely the car of the moment: his "incarnations," shown so far by the name of Toyota FT-86, FR-S Scion and soon with the Subaru logo on the hood, are the prelude of a sports car that seems to have all what it takes to fall in line and enter the competition in the heart of all fans.

The project is very ambitious: to build a rear-drive coupe with a boxer engine and handling for gourmets maintaining competitive price. Miracles of synergies or wicked ambition? The weather, the few months that separate us from the presentation of the final model, will be able to give us the answer we seek.

Toyota FT-86 II: style defined after testing on road

The stylistic differences between the Toyota FT-86 presented at the Tokyo Motor Show 2009 and the FT-86 II, presented recently at the Geneva Motor Show, and many are readily apparent. But because the prototype has changed so much within a year and a half? The changes were dictated by the feedback from testers who took him on the road.

The adjustments have been concentrated in the nose, now higher, and especially in the front pillar, whose bottom port has been moved back almost 10 cm (!) Compared to the original position. The result is a significantly less inclined windshield, accompanied by other measures of detail as those that affected the rear and front bumper, renovated with LED lights that resemble those of the FT-HS Concept 2007.

Toyota Yaris HSD, Prius +, EV-86 prototype and FT II: Geneva Motor Show 2011

Toyota presented at the Geneva Motor Show a 4 prototypes: Concept HSD Yaris, Prius +, IQ and EV Concept II-86 FT. The four cars anticipate many standard models of great importance in the market expected, called upon to strengthen Toyota's position in the world of hybrid and electric and in the case of the FT-86, a way to return to produce even sports cars.

The Toyota Yaris Concept HSD anticipates both the Yaris and the new generation of its unusual hybrid version, which goes on sale since mid-2012 in Europe and around which has developed this totally new project. The aesthetics of the prototype will be given to the hybrid model, with 18 "wheels, different air intakes, solar panels on the roof and front Led lights, while the mechanics (of which details are not yet known) takes over the Hybrid Synergy Drive recognized early on Auris and Prius HSD.
