The Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf with gratifying results have exceeded the crash test organized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), American Institute founded by some of insurance companies with the aim of improving road safety. Both have received the maximum grade on tests of frontal impact, side, rear and rollover, winning the adjective "good" that represents the most satisfactory result on a scale of four levels of courts.
