Hyundai presented the world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show 2011 (-13.3.2011), the new i40 series. This returns back Korea's largest automobile manufacturer in the European D-segment. The model is presented in Geneva as a combination. It is 4.77 meters long, 1.82 meters wide and 1.47 meters high and offers up to 1719 liters of luggage capacity.
As engines to choose from two petrol direct injection engine available with 1.6-liter (99 kW/135 hp) and 2.0-liter engine (130 kW/177 hp) and a thrifty 1.7-liter common-rail diesel , which is offered in two levels with 85 kW / 116 PS and 100 kW / 136 PS. The engines are coupled to a manual or optional six-speed automatic transmission also.
A start-stop system is also part of the fuel-efficient version of "Blue" as low rolling resistance tires and an intelligent battery charging management. The i40 CRDi 1.7 Blue should be a standard consumption of 4.3 liters per 100 kilometers, the most economical model in its class. The CO2 emissions are at 113 grams per kilometer.
The equipment options include an electric parking brake, lane departure and nine airbags and the optional Smart Parking Assist system. A hill-start assist is standard for the first time a Hyundai in the European program, there are also ventilatable front seats and a heated leather steering wheel.
