Toyota presented the exhibition in New York Scion FR-S Concept, a prototype that represents the evolution of the FT-86 Concept already seen at the recent Geneva Motor Show and anticipates the future coupe will arrive in the U.S. in 2012. The car, 4.27 long, 1.82 wide, 1.20 high and has a wheelbase of 2.57 meters differs from the concept unveiled at the Swiss in many details, while keeping the spirit that sees itself as a coupe looking smart and aggressive, characterized by bold lines and volumes "important" but do not weigh all that much.
At first glance, they detach the Five Axis alloy wheels and pronounced rear spoiler integrated perfectly into the rear of the car, which also points out to the camber of the wheel arches front and rear solution which, along with the body of the car down, helps to give the ' idea of a well-placed body to the ground.
The scheme provided for by Toyota (which the model name refers to being an acronym for Front engine, Rearl-wheel drive, Sport) is one in which the 2.0-liter boxer engine with Subaru source D4-S direct injection system to the 'front, while the rear traction. The change is instead a 6-speed manual or, alternatively, an automatic variant to be administered in sequential mode by commands placed behind the wheel.
The FR-S Concept will be distributed in the U.S. with the Scion brand from next year, while Europe will come later and will be sold under the Toyota brand.
