Volkswagen Golf the best selling car in Europe spring 2011

The Volkswagen Golf is still the most popular cars from European customers since early 2011 in the first place of the best selling cars in the Old Continent is still occupied by the Golf. C-segment car, the Volkswagen Golf was first assembled in 1974 and has since become a symbol of the German giant. Until 2005 were produced 24 million of Golf and the car remained for 13 consecutive years the best-selling car in Europe until 1994, when the Fiat Punto stole the scepter. Since then, the Golf has always been in the top of the list of best-selling cars in Europe by exchanging the top spot with various Ford Focus, Opel Astra and Renault Megane.

These, however, also makes use of other versions than the saloon (sedan, SUV), a feature that until recently was not about golf. Currently, the Volkswagen Golf is now in its sixth generation and is presented with the following engines: 1.4-aspirated 80 hp, 1.4 TSI with 122 horsepower, 1.6 to 102 hp, 160 hp 1.8 TSI, 1.2 TSI with 105 hp, 2.0 TSI monoturbo 4Motion, 210 horses and 272 horses from the golf R.

The department consists of the 2.0 TDI diesel 150 hp (or 170 for the GTD), the 105 hp 1.6 TDI and BlueMotion.
