The Aston Martin V12 Zagato was finally revealed, awaiting his international debut in the competition weekend at Villa D'Este. The coupe was created to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the DB4 GT Zagato, will be exhibited in Italy in preparation for competition and will debut at the Nurburgring 24 Hours on June 25 next year, as happened to the DB4 GT Zagato with drivers like Jim Clark and Roy Salvadori.
Following the road model will be presented, for a limited series production. The car is derived from the V12 Vantage Zagato combined intervention of tradition and style of the two brands in a judicious mix of design and technology: the Aston team that worked on the project was led by Chris Porritt, the same as in the past had followed the development of the One-77.
The body of the V12 Zagato is handcrafted in aluminum, a process that allows for more complex shapes and muscular than the preformed panels. Only the front fender, for example, consists of seven separate parts, machined and joined together to obtain a unique shape. Also the inevitable bumps on the roof, a real signature of Zagato, created by combining five different pieces of aluminum.
The V12 Zagato is equipped with a 6-liter V12 from 510 hp and 570 Nm of torque, the same as the original model with dell'allestimento of safety required for the competition, with full roll bar, 120 liter tank, brakes racing DSSV adjustable shock absorbers and Multimatic. Currently have informed about the weight and performance of the car.
