Auto auction of Pope Wojtyla: blessed are those who buy them

A dealer in Dusseldorf, specializing in the use, announced that he had sold two of the cars belonged to Karol Wojtyla. The first is a FSO Warszawa M20, a compact car built in Poland more than 254,000 units between 1951 and 1973 and the first car to be produced in the country after the war. Not cheap the price fixed by the dealer for this that has a line very similar to the Fiat 600 was produced in those years: € 250,000.

Of course, the intrinsic value of the vehicle is much lower, but since what would later become Pope was its first owner, the figure is inevitably climb. The dealer, however, has another surprise for its customers, a Ford Lincoln Continental, always belonged to the pope who was recently blessed fact.

And it was the beatification obtained last May 1 that he would raise the prices of both car: first the current price has risen by 20-30 times compared with a first auction went deserted in 2006 while the second touched the ceiling of € 500,000, under the current owner who had in the garage for some time.

If they were sold, these cars would not be the first to be auctioned after being owned by a pope in 2006 - one year after the ascent to the papacy - the car was auctioned by Pope Benedict XVI, sold for € 189,000.
