Brembo buys Perdiel and strengthens its position in South America

Brembo SpA announced that it has acquired the Perdiel an Argentine company that manufactures automotive brake discs, thereby enlarging the South American market in neighboring Brazil, which sees the largest producer of cars in Latin America. The Perdiel has a factory located in Buenos Aires, employing 150 people in 2011, generating revenues of approximately EUR 20 million.

With this transaction, the Bergamo company will acquire 75% of the capital of Perdiel of 3.3 million euro and will have an option on the remaining 25% which will make its within 3 years after signing the agreement. Even today, Brembo is very present in the Brazilian car market, having a market share of 60% in the production of disc brakes and drum brakes.

In recent years, the company has increased its local presence thanks to draw from the sales of cars made in Brazil and Argentina.
