Lexus CT200h takes to the track at the Nurburgring

After the debut of the Nissan Nismo RC Leaf, the first all-electric car to drive for competition, another friendly car like the Lexus hybrid compact CT200h is ready to get on track to tackle the tough curbs the Nurburgring. The news was confirmed directly from Lexus has decided to participate in the semi-official trophy to the demanding life of Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken to be held next weekend on the legendary circuit of Nurburgring Nordschleife.

The copy of the Lexus CT200h that take to the track to six hours along with 200 other racing cars, is prepared by specialists Gazoo Racing, the official trainer of Japanese manufacturer has already taken on the fast track green hell Lexus LF-A , in addition to propostonel over the years many interesting calculations, such as that on the basis of Toyota iQ.

The Lexus CT prepared by Gazoo Racing uses in fact a 2.4 liter four-cylinder Atkinson cycle coupled to an electric engine, capable of delivering a total output of 187 hp. During startup and braking in the hybrid race car will use only the electric engine without consuming a drop of fuel or emitting an ounce of CO2, while at times when there is no need for power, both engines will work in tandem, also thanks use of a sophisticated automatic transmission and a highly advanced power management, the car is able to recover energy that is generated under braking that the heat derived from the exhaust.
