Jaguar announced that it intends to reintroduce alphanumeric names for their models: within a couple of years at most, it will leave its current name scheme based on the "X". "Those who know us, understand the change on the fly. As it is a bit confusing," said AdrianHallmark, brand manager of British (and Indian-owned), who added that it aims to better identify themselves also by the general public.
That was not clear how will it change the name of Jaguar cars, which could add numbers to the letters is already at present is to completely change the name, bearing in mind both the segment is the operator. The figures in the name might indicate the maximum speed, as was the custom in the last century, even if it is not known whether the unit will be miles or kilometers per hour.
In any case, fans of the British brand will appreciate this return to tradition.
