Mini Coupe

Mini has released few minutes ago the first pictures of the Coupe, the fifth model in the range and the first with only two seats available. The English sports measuring 3.72 meters in length, 1.68 in width and height in 1:37, thus revealing more than 2.9 cm lower than the sedan but just as long and wide.

The body of the car follows closely that proposed by the homonymous concept and provides a alettoncino back, which comes out automatically once exceeded 80 km / h. The engineers of the British brand have turned special attention to the calibration buoyancy and equilibrium of the masses, trying to further improve the "go-kart-feeling" promised by the sedan.

The engine range comprises four units and as many versions. It starts with Cooper, equipped with the 1.6 petrol 122 bhp and 160 Nm, which provides an acceleration 0-100 km / h in 9 seconds and a top speed of 204 km / h and an average consumption of 5.4 liters per hundred kilometers . Those seeking more performance Cooper S will have to choose the three available, first of all the Cooper S with twin-scroll turbo 1.6 engine with 184 hp and 240 Nn (260 Nm with overboost).

The latter accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.9 seconds, reaches 230 km / h and consumes 5.8 liters per hundred kilometers. At the top is positioned by the John Cooper Works 211 hp and 260 Nm, faster than the second half of the Cooper S 0-100 km / h 10 km / h in maximum speed. The only diesel engine is the recent 2.0 143 hp and 305 Nm, for the SD Cooper.

This allows the four-cylinder Mini Coupe to achieve hundred per hour in 7.9 seconds, touching the 216 km / h and consumes just 4.3 liters of diesel per hundred kilometers. The presentation is expected at the Frankfurt Motor Show (15-25 September).
