Turin General Motors engineers have developed a new 1.0 three-cylinder turbodiesel that will be assembled in series starting next June. The engine was designed specifically for the Indian market, to meet the needs of the Indian population for what it regards cost, performance and efficiency. The new GM 1.0 turbodiesel will have a maximum torque of 140 Nm at 1,750 rpm, unpublished data for the Indian market, which will compete with all other mini-diesel.
